Ecotherapy - The Natural Ways of Healing the Human Mind

The mind of a person which consists of one's mental phenomena like sensation, perception, thinking, reasoning, memory, belief, desire, emotion and motivation, when sick or depressed can be healed through a science or therapy of the mind, and this is why people go to a clinic to see a psychologist who can asses, diagnose and treat their psychological problem which may relate to physical or mental health issues or behavioral problem.

Psychologist helps in promoting healthy behavior, preventing disease and improving the quality of life of those who are sick, especially the sick in the mind. And one of these ways is the use Eco-therapy.

Eco-therapy - This a simple way of obtaining mind healing eg enhancing and boosting or improving the health of the mind through the interaction with nature or green environment.

The practice of Eco-therapy was developed from a field of Eco-Psychology by Theodore Rosak a twentieth-century historian who studied the impact of culture on human behavior, and later founder of the Eco-psychology movement. Eco-psychology is a study of the relationship between human being and the natural world which is the earth itself. Therefore, Eco-therapy practice by many therapists known as Eco-therapist is as a result of a believe that the environment has a self-correcting capacity that is mediated by complex systems of integrated balance on humans, and that if humans can harmonize with the systems, their mental health would improve.


Many clinicians have found the practice of Eco-therapy to be beneficial in the healing process by prescribing it to their patient in addition to their medications or treatments, especially in the cases that has to do with depression or anxiety and mental stress. Eco-therapy treatment can be in various ways such as:

1.Observing a spiritual exercise in a green places like garden, church grotto garden.

2.taking a visiting to a gardening or farming to interact with animals and plants eg

farm animals

3.going to a wilderness or taking an adventure in a forest

4.taking a visit to a park or engaging in other outdoor activities

5.taking a visit to a river or mountain areas

6.combining physical exercises such as Yoga with green nature adventures

The beneficial effects and advantages of Eco-therapy is not only gotten by a physical contact with the environment, so people do not need to spend time in a green settings to get the benefit from it. A simple view of nature from a window, or even images of nature such as pictures frame or artifacts,in their homes or offices has been shown in several research to boost people's general mood and mental health.

-Killing of endanger animal the are animals or organisms that are threatened by extinction. such as the lion, tiger leopard, mountain gorillas, asian elephants etc, and these animal become endangered for two main reasons: loss of habitat and loss of genetic variation.

-Deforestation: This is the removal of a forest or trees from land that is then changed to non-forest use area, which is then converted to farmland, ranches, or urban usage .

5.Destruction of the ecosystem can cause or lead to human unrest, sicknesss,heat and other environment problems such as ncreased flooding due to the erosion of soil and lack of trees, Climate change, natural disaster such as tsunamis, earthquakes, droughts etc, Food shortage as the lands become barren and the oceans become devoid of fish and other marine life.

World Malaria Day-Malaria treatments and Prevention methods

 

WHO is working with 25 countries of the world, among them were three African countries in the elimination of malaria initiative. The key aim is to scale up efforts to achieve elimination within the next few years.

. They were selected based on an analysis that looked at the likelihood of elimination across 3 key criteria: 1) trends in malaria case incidence between 2000 and 2016; 2) declared malaria objectives of affected countries; and 3) informed opinions of WHO experts in the field.

Three of these countries from Africa are Botswana, Eswatini and South Africa. The 25 countries were included in the earlier WHO’s E-2020 initiative too, but anti-malaria efforts were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.


TWO KINDS OF MALARIA

One may categorize malaria sickness into two categories: namely, uncomplicated and severe malaria symptoms.

A.Uncomplicated : This form can become severe malaria without treatment, or if the host has poor or no immunity.
